Receiving a compliance check from HMRC in relation to the original SDLT return filed by your solicitor or a subsequent amendment can be extremely daunting and it’s not usually something you would expect your conveyancing solicitor to deal with.

Relatus are highly experienced in dealing with compliance checks both in relation to amendments we have submitted and for clients who have come to us from a different advisor who has been unable to assist them.

We will deal with the whole process on your behalf from the initial compliance response right through to representation at the Tax Tribunal.

We have won appeals at the Tax Tribunal for example, Packman v HMRC, but have resolved many compliance checks with HMRC agreeing our position without an appeal to the Tax Tribunal being necessary.
