Land Transaction Tax (LTT) is the alternative to SDLT for property located in Wales.  Relatus have worked with the Welsh Revenue Authority for many years and are as familiar with LTT as we are with SDLT.

When you buy a property in Wales you pay Land Transaction Tax (LTT) as opposed to SDLT and the rates are different. The amount you pay depends on whether the property you are buying is residential, non-residential or a mixture of the two. It also depends on whether you own other properties and whether any reliefs are applicable. The current LTT rates are listed below.
